Family Fun

September 16, 2016

Do you know what I love? Families. They are always brilliant, hilarious and beautiful. This family has twin girls. I still remember when they were born and had to spend some time in the NICU. I cannot believe they are so big and getting ready for school! Mom, Dad, big sister and the twins are truly one of a kind. I’m lucky that I can also call them friends.

Your family is beautiful!

Till next time…

Mountain Destination Wedding

September 6, 2016

Look at this gorgeous venue! This property, (the grooms parents)almost burnt down in a wildfire 6 weeks before the wedding! A private vineyard, breathtaking views, nestled between hills in the Wenatchee, Washington. The grooms parents spent a very intense few weeks re-landscaping the property before the wedding.

This wedding took place over labor day weekend last year. It started with an amazing rehearsal dinner coordinated and styled by the merry makers at Merriment Party Goods. The dinner was supposed to take place outside, on the beautiful grounds surrounding the home. The weather had other plans for us. The wind decided to pick up and blow soot from the burned hillside everywhere! Luckily, Brianne the chief merrymaker, had a plan b…and c. So we ended up moving the whole party inside. As you can see, it urned out amazing.

There were so many handmade details from this wedding, the wooden bowl in the photo below was just one of many that were handcrafted, by the grooms father, as wedding favors for the out of town guests.

So we hoped that by morning the wind would be gone, and we would be able to hold the ceremony as planned over looking the vineyard and the valley floor below. However, we woke up to rain. So, once again on to Plan B. The ceremony moved to the indoors. We moved furniture and rugs, dried off the chairs, created an aisle  and a new Huppah from scratch.

The ceremony, was beautiful and full of meaning and steeped in culture and tradition. Dina and Mike chose to have both a celtic hand fasting ritual and tradtional Jewish wedding ceremony. It was simply one of the best weddings I have ever had the privilege to attend.

The reception was held at Mountain Spring Lodge immediately after the ceremony. It was joyful and emotional evening. There was singing, laughing, tears and fun. Mike and Dina, now share the same wedding anniversary as his paternal grandparents. They shared their reception with them

I just love a cute kid that loves to dance!

And finally… gorgeous pictures of the bride and groom.

xoxo…

Schools Out!

June 8, 2016

This guy just graduated high school a couple weeks ago. Ryan was so much fun to work with! He was up for anything. I asked him if he was secretly a model. He nailed every shot. Ryan is out heading out of state for college in the fall. And… Ryan wants to be a nurse. You know as a RN myself, I couldn’t have been more excited to hear that! Here is to your future Sir! Good luck and if you have any nurse questions… don’t hesitate to call!

Till Next time…

Sacramento Fun

May 11, 2016

Sacramento has  a lot of unique places, that are steeped in gold rush era history. “Old Sacramento” is one of those places. It is one of my favorite places to photograph because there are so many unique building, colors and alleyways. These kids were awesome! They put up with me running them back and forth across old town and kept me entertained the whole time!

Party of 3

May 4, 2016

Some of life’s biggest surprises are our children. They bring with them all of our hopes and joys for the future. The surprise is sometimes in their arrival, but mostly the surprise is watching them grow and figuring out whom they will become. Welcome to the world little one!

And to you, beautiful mama, this image make my heart ache. It is love…  tangible and real, captured forever through the lens.

Till we meet again

xoxo

Lucky Ducky

April 23, 2016

What happens when a wild duck decides to join your family session? Why you let him of course! You never know what fun creatures you will find on an outdoor session. Lizards? Yep! Deer? Double yep! Its always a bit of nature discovery. This little Mallard was a first for me though.

Well, now that you’ve met the duck, meet the rest of this cool family. Katie is a lucky ducky herself. She has these 3 handsome fellas that keep her on her toes. Like any woman who has to contend with a house full of boys she is fierce and tough and strong. They are great qualities to have, especially when you run your own business as well. Katie is an amazing hairdresser.

So… go out with your family, have and adventure and give me a call to tag along and capture it for you. And… if you need a recommendation for a great hairdresser… I can definitely refer you. Till next time

xoxo

3 Months

April 21, 2016

Babies are always so special. Twins are twice the fun… or twice the trouble. I would know. I am myself one half of a boy and girl twin set. These two cuties, Ky and Kennedy, are in fact my niece and nephew. These two in fact belong to my twin! ( Twins run  in the family, we have 2 more sets of boy/girl twin cousins also.) So, enjoy these cute faces, I know I do!

The Writer

April 8, 2016

I had a really exciting opportunity to photograph Catherine, who wrote a really cool book and is now looking to be published. In her own words she says :

Community 92 is a work of apocalyptic speculative fiction. It takes place in world that “could be,” on a day like tomorrow. Speculative fiction is a wide genre that has long been dominated by male-focused storytelling. However, apocalypse-themed speculative fiction for women is growing with works like Emily St. John Mandel’s Station Eleven, Edan Lepucki’s California, and Claire Vaye Watkin’s Gold Fame Citrus. In addition, Jean Hegland’s 1998 apocalypse-themed novel Into the Forest was recently developed into a movie (yay!) starring Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood.

Consumers are excited about woman-driven speculative fiction, and Community 92 is a solid entry into this growing market. Community 92 sets itself apart from other works by focusing on motherhood and community, as well as by exploring the device of war as the apocalyptic event as opposed to natural disasters or epidemics. In addition,Community 92 starts at the beginning of the apocalyptic events, instead of years later, and has a tone of hope and resilience instead of fear and loneliness.

Spring Fling

April 1, 2016

Do you know what I love about the spring? Everything! The colors, the freshness, brand new Easter clothes! Who says family pictures are only for the fall! Just take a look at these and you will want spring family photos too.  I promise, go ahead and book way ahead of fall. You won’t regret it.

Do you know what else I love? This family. Mom-Leah, is one of those amazing people who greets you like a true friend…every time! Even better, she really is that kind, sweet, warm thoughtful, bright bit of sunshine that you see right here.

Party of 4 (almost)

April 1, 2016

I love when I get to document important moments in a families life. I met Jenn, several years ago through my work as an RN. When she was pregnant with their first baby, Miss C, I causally asked if she was considering having any maternity photos done. She was, and asked if I knew anyone. LOL I did. I was thrilled when she decided to hire me. Since then we have captured her family as it has grown. I hope to be able to share in many more memories to come.

xoxo
